I just now briefly read a description of an IPad.
It looks like a mini computer-like thing.

An iPad really just is an enourmous iPod touch.
It has an LED backlit display which means it’s not exactly easy on the eyes, but it has a lot of functions that the Kindle doesn’t.
They’re coming out with iPad apps, the iPad can watch video, and also the iPad has the fast internet speed of the iPod touch. In general, it’s great for media, not so much books.
Whereas the Kindle has a special kind of screen that is designed to look like paper. It is easy on your eyes and it feels just like reading a book. But you can’t play games, can’t watch movies, and the internet is painfully slow. Overall, it’s great if you only want it for reading.
So it all depends on your uses. If you want to do a bit more with it and don’t mind reading off of computer screens, take the iPad.
But if you prefer paper over glass, and you don’t need it for much than reading, the Kindle is the way to go.

LikeDislikeAnswer one is pretty thourough but doesn’t correct a misimpression that you have. The Kindle does not access the internet. It connects to the amazon kindle website wirelessly over a free connection they call wispernet… but you cannot leave the amazon site. There’s no way to browse using it.
It’s a reader, and a real good one… but it’s not a computer. It doesn’t browse, do email, or run apps.

LikeDislikeHere are all about the web browsing function of Amazon Kindle:
For reading purpose, it must be Amazon’s eReader, Kindle. It is more easy to our eyes with its e-ink screen, and it is specially designed for reading so it can give us a better touch and feel for reading.
And I must say I love my Kindle 2 very much. I remember I read these reviews about the benefits of the Kindle when I decided to buy it:
Hope it helps
