   Depends what you want to use it for. If you are wanting a music player to keep in your pocket, the iPad is definitely out. If you are using it for web surfing, watching movies and paying games, the iPad is better because of the screen size and better battery life.

   Touch: Portable, Web, Games, Music, Video (wifi only internet)
   iPhone: Portable, Web, Games, Music, Video, Phone (internet everywhere)
   iPad: Large Screen, Good battery life, Games, Video, Books, Music (wifi only internet, won’t fit in pocket)

   I think the size and usability of each device differs. I think the iPad is perfect for reading and surfing the internet while chilling on the couch or on a park bench but the iPod touch is perfect for listening to your music library in the car and while running or exercising. I would actually sell your iPod touch 8GB to if your brother does not want it anymore.
